I would like to see some resources that show coconut as drying to skin.
I've seen it used in dozens of DIY applications, and not a single one of
them warned of drying. The worst I can think of would be slightly
astringent properties due to the antioxidant content, but astringency isn't
the same as drying. Coconut oil is used for other things, too; it's
excellent for curing butcher block because the oil itself has a very long
shelf life and resists going rancid.
